How is damage reported?/Are the beach huts patrolled?

The beach huts are patrolled once a day by volunteers to check for any huts which may have been vandalised or suffered from storm damage.  Any damage is reported to an area controller who then advises the association members affected that day.  Details are also reported once a week to Tendring District Council of non-members.

We are always looking for volunteers.  If you enjoy a sea-front walk this could be an ideal opportunity for you.  The patrols take around 30 minutes per day and volunteers are rostered on for a week a time.  If you would  like to become a patrol volunteer please email Philip Thornton at pgthornton@lineone.net and he will contact you.

The local Police are striving to reduce the instances where beach huts have been subject to vandalism and sabotage.

Patrols have been increased along the lower promenades and the local Frinton and Walton police have been communicating with both local Beach hut associations with a view to trying to reduce the instances of damage.

It is very important that vandalism in ANY form is reported to the police.
